Why go the Holistic Route?

Most people come to holistic health practitioners when western doctors and aren’t providing what they are truly needing. A holistic approach addresses the body as a series of systems operating within an enitre system, where each one effects the whole. Most clinical doctors only try to combat symptoms with neglect to the root cause. Human beings are complex. Not only are we affected by the food we eat, the substances we ingest and the amount we exercise, our bodies are also directly affected by the thoughts we allow, and the experiences we have... traumatic or joyful. When we allow unhealthy thoughts, unhealthy behavior can result, which leads to an unhealthy lifestyle and greater potential for mental health issues like anxiety and depression. It all become a vicious cycle, and the body starts to keep score. This is why it is so important for people to incorporate preventative, natural health practices into their daily lives, even if it's just 20 minutes of yoga or mediation.

Your Body Needs your Support!

We live in a world that forces us to armor. This means our bodies are constantly holding on, tightening and clenching, trying to protect us. The more stress in our physical and emotional lives, the more stress the body holds. So many people also spend most of their time engaged in a lifestyle that breeds bad posture. We are constantly hunched over looking at a screen, sitting at a desk, or on our phones. If the muscles are not stretched or relieved, and remain inactive, there can be a build-up of fascia which can lead to tightness, pain, and lack of mobility. What may at first start as discomfort in one area can soon create a serious injury somewhere completely different. The body creates compensation patterns to overcorrect muscular or structural misalignments in order to maintain balance.

Our bodies go thorugh a lot. Through all the physical labor, and distress that daily life can bring, it is only trying to protect us. The truth is that the body is meant to heal itself. We are meant to feel alive, healthy, youthful and energized. As a holistic health practitioner, I facilitate, and guide the body back into its natural state, where it can regenerate properly. It takes time, but eventually, each little thing we do for ourselves can impact our overall state of wellbeing tremendously. At the end of the day, our lifestyles are what dictate our health and happiness.
